Welcome to FrysiaHouse near Lillehammer

We are a Frysian-Dutch family living in a beautiful spot near Lillehammer, Norway. We rent out our apartment so you can enjoy it on your vacation.

The apartment has two bedrooms. One has a double bed, the other a bunkbed providing sleeping accomodation for up to four persons all together. The living area has an open kitchen with all amenities needed for cooking (fridge, oven, microwave, stove). There is a separate bathroom with shower and toilet. The apartment is in good condition, clean and tastefully decorated. Total floor space is about 60 m2. Your accomodation is located on the second floor and requires walking up a flight of stairs (not recommended for people who are not sure-footed). Everything is located on one level over a large garage and the apartment has a separate entrance. It stands at the end of a private road in a quiet wooded area on a mountain about 350 meters over sea level offering beautiful views of lake Mjosa and the gorge which runs down to it. A walking path into the gorge can be easily accessed directly from the property and connects to many kilometres of trails for walking or mountain biking. In winter a car with 4WD or AWD is required to travers the private road.

The surrounding area has much to offer:

- beautiful nature without crowds, containing: roe deer, elk, hare, rarely seen bob cats and various birds such as: wood peckers, birds of prey and grouse. There is a superb waterfall about 40 minutes walking from our house and several smaller ones;

- a well-stocked supermarket (4 kilometres);

- the lovely town of Lillehammer (a 20-minute drive) which offers a nice shopping area with various restaurants, bars, a cinema, a theatre, miniture golf, outdoor and indoor swimming pools);

- easy access to Norway's premier winter sports area of Hafjell (a 30-minute drive to ski-lift and ski equipment rental) which also makes for a great hiking destination in summer. There is also a golf course located here;

- Lake Mjosa can be used for ice skating and ice fishing in winter and water sports and fishing (large trout) in summer. You can also travers this very large and deep lake by boarding the nearly 170-years old peddle steam boat Skibladner;

- Hunderfossen and Lilleputhammer family amusement parks just north of Lillehammer  (a 30-minute drive);

- European and World championships ice skating take place in the famous Vikingskipet in Hamar (a 45-minute drive);

- Norway's alps, Jotunheimen (home of the giants), are within easy driving distance (about 150 kilometres) and make for a great day outing;

- Norway's capital Oslo also makes for a enjoyable day outing with great museums, parks, restaurants and shopping (a two hour drive).
